Four Vodafone wahine were shortlisted, honouring female excellence within the technology sector
We're so proud that four of our fabulous Vodafone wahine were shortlisted for the Reseller News Women in ICT Awards, honouring female excellence within the technology sector.
Following an intensive judging process - selected by an executive panel of more than 85 industry leaders - 16 winners were selected across eight categories from the 101 finalists, in addition to seven highly commended acknowledgements.
Up against a record-breaking number of submissions, we are so proud that at the awards ceremony last night, Emily Ng, Core Services DevOps Engineer, won the award for Rising Star in Telco.
The award recognises a standout candidate rising up through the ranks within the ICT industry, acknowledging significant advancement during the early stages of her technology career. This individual is growing in stature and importance through demonstrating outstanding business acumen, deep market expertise and high levels of professional integrity.
Emily won the award for assuming lead roles in high-profile initiatives such as the virtual Evolved Packet Core (EPC) deployment, which allowed Vodafone to migrate services from legacy platforms to fully virtualised solutions. Skilled in VMware, OpenStack and routing technologies, Emily also spearheaded the successful launch of 5G NSA to provide enhanced services for Vodafone customers and network resiliency programs. Absolutely amazing work!
Commenting on the award, Emily says "I feel very humbled to be awarded the Rising Star award for the Telco category," she said. "Huge thank you to my boss and all my mentors at Vodafone - I truly couldn't have gotten where I am today without you!"
We also want to give a big round of applause to Emily Fischer, for receiving Highly Commended in the Graduate category, as well as Nicole Treloar and Megan Martin for their nominations.
