Essential repair work taking place on West Coast fibre cabling

Vodafone warns some customers may experience intermittent loss of connection over the long weekend

Essential repair work on Chorus fibre cabling will be taking place this weekend, which may interrupt service for some Vodafone NZ customers over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

While we are doing everything we can to manage the disruption, some customers may experience loss of connectivity for up to 120 minutes most likely on Saturday 30 May, between 9am-6pm.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause but this repair work is essential for phone and internet services in the area.

The customers likely to be impacted are those in the following areas:

  • Lake Wahapo
  • Tatare
  • Okarito Lagoon
  • Fox Glacier
  • Franz Josef
  • Whataroa

Vodafone has been working alongside industry stakeholders and in conjunction with a range of government agencies to keep New Zealand customers connected during COVID-19 lockdown and beyond.
