Vodafone and Palo Alto Networks create strategic partnership to help protect more New Zealand businesses from cyberattacks

Vodafone Secure Access helps local businesses navigate hybrid workforces with peace of mind

Vodafone NZ today launched a new service called Vodafone Secure Access powered by Palo Alto Networks, the global cybersecurity leader, which helps business customers address the need for secure remote working. Built on Prisma Access, the cloud-delivered security platform from Palo Alto Networks, Vodafone Secure Access is an easily scalable solution that protects users, applications, and data across cloud, corporate and home networks with advanced threat protection. The platform also delivers Zero Trust Network Access, limiting users’ access to only authorised applications and data, after verifying their identity. Vodafone Secure Access is also a core capability enabling a business to move to a SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) architecture.

“Businesses are increasingly reliant on technology and having strong cybersecurity defences in place is not a nice-to-have, but a must-have," says Lindsay Zwart, Chief Enterprise Officer at Vodafone NZ. “Recent hacks have thrust cybersecurity awareness into the mainstream, with directors and business leaders realising how important it is to have a remarkable security partner.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Palo Alto Networks to help organisations around Aotearoa install some of the best cybersecurity products available globally. Palo Alto Networks is a clear differentiator and market disruptor in this space, creating world-leading cybersecurity products that allow our customers to secure their business data, applications, locations and hybrid workforce”.

Vodafone NZ and Palo Alto Networks NZ have already helped protect several New Zealand businesses from cyber threats.

In The State of Hybrid Workforce Security Report 2021 by Palo Alto Networks, it ascertained that 61% of companies surveyed struggled to provide the necessary remote security to support work-from-home capabilities and 71% of organisations expect to have their security mostly or completely in the cloud over the next 24 months.

Misti Landtroop, managing director for New Zealand at Palo Alto Networks, says, “Cybercrime is borderless, so New Zealand organisations need a borderless cyber-protection plan. We’re delighted to be partnering with Vodafone to provide business customers with the benefits from a scalable way of enabling secure remote access for every user at any location.”

“As we continue to have kiwis working from home, our cloud-delivered security platform will help businesses navigate hybrid workforces with confidence. The partnership will also enable the protection of more local customers from global threats,” added Landtroop.
