Amy Oding named on IBM’s global list of Women Leaders in AI 2021

Massive congratulations to Amy Oding, Operational Support & Automation Manager in the Platforms team!

IBM is recognising 40 exceptional female business leaders from all around the globe who are using artificial intelligence (AI) to drive transformation, growth and innovation, in their list of Women Leaders in AI 2021.

We’re incredibly proud that Amy Oding, Operational Support & Automation Manager in our Platforms team, which is part of our Wholesale & Infrastructure division, is among this list of business innovators.

Leaders across a wide variety of industries and geographies were chosen because they and their companies are demonstrating the power of AI to improve business and work for their customers and employees.

Amy Oding was chosen for her work in leading a first-of-its-kind transformation of the management of our cellular network, with a goal of improving the consistency of the customer experience, reducing mobile or phone service interruptions and improving reliability.

Together with IBM, Amy’s team developed an AI-driven data analytics model that enabled us to perform detailed traffic predictions that engineers were not previously able to do, given the high volume, complex and dynamic cellular mobile network.

In receiving the award, Amy said “This is a massive honour and is a testament to the work of the whole team in implementing a best-in-class AI solution. We were so pleased to bring efficiencies into our NOC (Network Operations Centre) and Network DevOps teams, as a way to improve our customers’ network experience. IBM has compiled a fantastic list of wahine, that I’m so pleased to stand beside.”

Congrats again Amy, we’re very proud of your work!

The annual recognition not only celebrates the honourees’ accomplishments, but also creates a peer network for them to learn from each other and discover approaches for applying AI to solve pressing business challenges.
