More internet speed for Vodafone home broadband fibre customers

Fibre upgrades are being passed onto homes using Fibre100 plans delivered by Chorus, Ultrafast Fibre and Enable

Following recent upgrades by three local fibre (LFC) companies, Vodafone NZ will soon start communicating with eligible customers that they’ll receive faster internet speeds for no additional cost.

The maximum speeds now available on Fibre100 plans delivered by Chorus, Tuatahi First Fibre and Enable have increased to an average of 300Mbps for downloads and 100Mbps for uploads at the busiest times (as indicated by each LFC) - up from 98Mbps for downloads and 22Mbps for uploads.

To reflect these upgrades, the name of relevant Vodafone home broadband plans will change on customer’s bills - either from Ultimate Home Fibre100 or Unlimited Fibre100 to Ultimate Home Fibre Unlimited or Fibre Unlimited.

Joe Goddard, Experience and Commercial Director, says Vodafone is pleased to offer customers this extra speed boost. “These upgrades will automatically be processed so that customers get faster speeds included within their current home broadband plans, and there’s nothing they need to do. These are the most popular home fibre plans and, alongside the LFCs, we’ve essentially tripled speeds for the same price, which must be a great deal in anyone’s books.

“While the cost of most goods is going up as inflation sets in, internet prices remain awesome value. For only a few dollars a day, these fast and reliable home internet plans offer New Zealanders access to the online world with unlimited browsing, video streaming or working from home, to name a few benefits of connectivity.”

As always, several factors can affect the actual speeds customer’s experience, such as network conditions, the in-home setup, and other environmental factors. To optimise home internet performance, check out these simple modem tips and tricks from the Vodafone NZ support team.

Joe adds: “If customers are experiencing Wifi that is uneven or patchy, be sure to check out SuperWifi, which guarantees Wifi to every corner of a home - or we’ll give a $100 credit on their home broadband account.”

Northpower Fibre100 customers will not be getting this speed increase at this time, as the upgrades are being completed by each LFC.
